Type of Volcano
Mauna Loa is a shield volcano, which is not the largest. But in this case, it is. The shape is flat, barely steep, but the width is massive. It's lava flow is runny, which means it does not have a lot of viscosity. Like a fountain, it gently creates a puddle form at the bottom of the volcano.
